Jorge Bafico

Montevideo, Uruguay, 1969.

Jorge Bafico is a visual artist, psychoanalyst, writer, and educator.

He lives and works in Montevideo, Uruguay. He has been practicing psychoanalysis since 1993 and holds a PhD in Psychology from the University of Salvador (Argentina). He is a member of the World Association of Psychoanalysis (WAP) and the Montevideo Lacanian Group (GLM), and serves as an adjunct professor at the Clinical Institute of the Faculty of Psychology at the University of the Republic (UDELAR).

A member of Emilio Bolinches’ workshop for his artistic training, he develops his artistic practice in dialogue with an extensive clinical and intellectual trajectory, constituting an autonomous field of formal and conceptual research within contemporary art.
